In 1995, brothers Buddy & Brad Achen, along with friend Chuck Watkins, purchased an existing hardware store in Hatch, New Mexico. They formed the company "Sun Valley, Inc." and transformed the store into a "Do It Best Hardware" store that also consists of a "NAPA Auto Parts" in addition to farm equipment sales.

After several successful years, the partners opened a second location in Deming, New Mexico in 1999. This store centers around hardware, farm equipment sales, and storage unit rentals. With this store proving to be another success, the partners diversified their company by purchasing the Village Market Grocery Store in Hatch, New Mexico in 2001.
