Bank of the Rio Grande, N.A. was originally chartered in April 1985 by Ruidoso Bank Corporation. In April 1990 a group of local businessmen, now the Bank's Board of Directors, formed the holding company named Las Cruces B.R.G. and acquired the stock of Bank of the Rio Grande.

From its inception, the Bank operated its main office in Las Cruces from a facility located at 411 N. Downtown Mall, the historical business center of the community. In March 1991 we added a full service branch at the corner of Telshor Blvd. and University Avenue in southeast Las Cruces to better serve our customers in the proximity of New Mexico State University & Memorial Medical Center.
